               Interleukin-2

               IL-2 is produced by activated CD4  Th1 cells. Some is also produced

               by CD8  cells, NKT cells (Chapter 19), dendritic cells, and mast
               cells. Its targets are T, B, and NK cells and macrophages. IL-2 is a
               potent stimulator of T cell proliferation, IFN-γ production, and
