such as TGF-β, or cytotoxic granzymes and perforins. They also
produce suppressive cytokines such as IL-10 and IL-35. As a result,
Treg cells suppress the responses of both Th1 and Th2 cells and
prevent inappropriate T cell activation in the absence of antigens.
The balance between Treg cells and Th2 cells regulates many
inflammatory and allergic diseases.
