Nodular sarcoids (Figure 18.34)
These round, nodular lesions are generally found on the face, especially around the eyes and
also on the sheath and inner thighs. In some cases the overlying skin is normal and freely
mobile over the lump. In other cases the skin may be attached to the lump and appear thin
and shiny. Lesions that grow to larger than 2 cm ( in) may ulcerate and develop into
fibroblastic sarcoids.
