Phissons: Ethical Dilemma

Michael Blackthorn the CEO of

Phissons plc is in his office six weeks

before the launch of a major new

asthma drug when he receives
information from his head of research

tha they had gotten their sums wrong

and that in all likelihood the new drug
would result in a number of deaths in

children after five years of use.

Statistically the number of deaths would be so small that

they would fall within industry standards. The question is
though should the company launch the drug or withdraw it.

He asks the reader to help solve this dilemma and as part of

this information is gathered from the other directors on

their opinions etc.

The market potential for proxydychromil is large and
growing and within three years all development costs would

have been recovered
