1/ Introduction:
Marketing is about satisfying the consumer
needs. The rise in customer satisfaction is due
to the strong marketing efforts. With the
advent of environmental concerns, the focus of
marketing has not only changed but there is a
shift in the customer‘s perception towards the
offering they subscribe. This might be very
suitable to many of the tangible offerings but
holds true for services as well. One might be
of the opinion that only the tangible offerings
(manufactured goods) account for depletion of
resources, which may be due the inherent
nature of such offerings. However, it is not at
all astonishing to believe that the services also
account for the diminution of the resources.
Although the services are intangible, their
contribution towards the depletion of the
resources can be well judged from the physical
evidence that they exhibit. It is sometimes
overlooked that the attempt to produce a
memorable experience for the customers will
result in greater reduction of the available
resources. This in turn may affect the
sustainability of their business, as many of
