Accredited vs. Non-Accredited – What’s the big deal?

        environment and/or safety within the
        marketplace.

 Settled Discrepancies. When a company has a
        disagreement with an accredited certification
body on a non-conformance finding, they can be
confident they will have a fair and thorough
appeals process. The oversight body makes sure
appeals are escalated and properly addressed
through a formal process. If you ever consider an
unaccredited certification in an effort to save
money, consider the potential for unresolved
issues. Without an impartial oversight body, are
you sure your appeals will be heard? Will they be
processed fairly and if not, who can you turn to?
The answer very well may be no one.

 Fewer Audits. Being certified to a globally-
accepted standard should lessen the number of
        second-party customer audits. Certification from
        an accredited certification body demonstrates
        commitment to quality, environmental practices
and safety and increases customers and
customer confidence. Over time and with proven
        success with these accredited certifications,
customers will be more likely to trust in
companies and may eliminate or reduce their
        requests for additional audits.

       Business Integrity. Accredited certification
bodies who audit to ISO and other standards
        follow established guidelines to maintain
