After ISO 22000 was initially reviewed by the GFSI
Technical Board, it was determined additional
      prerequisite programs and other requirements
were needed before this standard could be
      benchmarked.

Along with the help of world manufacturers and
the ISO working group for developing ISO 22000,
ISO 22002-1 was created to add detailed
prerequisite programs to ISO 22000. There are other
dedicated PRPs to support the different industries.
The ISO 22002-1 is comprised of sections relating to
the premise, structure and pre-requisite programs.

The ISO 22000 portion is comprised of:
      • Context of the organization
      • Leadership
      • Planning
      • Operation
      • Performance Evaluation
      • Improvement

ISO/TS 22003 is the document that identifies the
requirements certification bodies must follow when
providing audits and certification to ISO 22000.
