Children's Reading Room Addition

After assisting the Bensenville Community Public Library District in obtaining a Library Grant, FGM
designed a $530,000 Children's Reading Room Addition utilizing natural materials and abundant
light.

Deerfield Park District
Mitchell Park Pool Renovation

Without raising taxes in the community, the Deerfield Park District renovated Mitchell Park Pool
by replacing the existing 50 year old aluminum pool and renovating the bathhouse and pool
equipment building for a total construction cost of just under $5,000,000. The bathhouse interior
was gutted and replaced with a layout that conforms to modern pool code requirements. The
950 bather capacity pool facility includes three separate bodies of water which can be closed
to the bathers as staffing needs, or weather, dictate. The innovative wading pool layout
combines a full spray pad with a tot pool, while the main 25 meter lap pool has built in ramp
access and separate dive pool includes a drop slide.
