This is Tiny Little Devil.

The chess piece was sculpted on the child

wooden people form.

This is the first sculpture I did of Dev, short
for Tiny Little Devil. Something about his
mischievousness nature spoke to me. Now

Dev is the star of A Gargoyle in Paris.

All of the chess pieces except the kings were
sculpted on small wooden people forms.

To build the base, we glued small precut squares

of wood on top of square blocks. We drilled holes
in the bottom of the

character forms and
the top of the bases

and used dowel sticks
cut to size to hold
them in place.
