Sound of New England Chorus (continued)
Gwen made a fabulous Supreme Fairy Godmother
(HOTS, recognize her cape???)
With the show behind us, we dusted off our holiday
music for several performances starting right after
Thanksgiving. First we sang for West Hartford seniors
at their holiday luncheon on November 27th, and a
small group of us at the West Hartford “Stroll” on
December 1st. The town of W. H. closes off a section of
Farmington Avenue west of Main St. to cars; stores
stay open, restaurants have specials, and people come
And walk around and take it all in. We sang from a stage set up on a corner, and strolling people
stopped to listen.

Atheneum’s Festival of Trees
Two days later, we sang again at the Hartford Atheneum’s annual Festival of Trees, which is always a
performance we love to do! Our last holiday gig is December 19th for our friends at the Saint Mary
Home, after which we will have a holiday party before we take a week off for Christmas.
The new year will start with a coaching session with Karen Sweeters, and then our regional weekend
with Peggy Gram. We will also have our annual spring retreat with her in February!! Yay! Before we
know it, we’ll be on the stage in Springfield. We have a beautiful new ballad, and our rehearsals have
been so energized! What’s that old saying? “Time flies when you’re having fun?” That’s sure true for
us.
Have a beautiful and safe winter. May the snow NOT fall on rehearsal days!
