Berkshire Hills Chorus
Great news! Our co-directors, Pat Feldman and Gail Wojtkowiak, both are now certified directors! We
are so lucky to have them! They are smart, energetic, fun, and so easy to work with. Pat had knee
surgery just three weeks before contest and was there on her scooter directing us. According to the
Showmanship judge, she was a "graceful and humorous performer". We had a brand new member,
Mary Davis, competing for the first time, and a former member, Julieanne Maxwell, joining and
competing again after ten years. Our chorus was fortunate to again have Cheryl Wilcox, director of
Farmington Valley Chorus, and Cathy Saunders, their choreographer, as our coaches.
We were very proud of our new quartet, "On The Rocks", (pictured above) with our directors, Pat and
Gail singing lead and tenor respectively, and Sarah Connell, baritone, and Jill Topham,
bass. Competing in a quartet for the first time, Sarah and Jill were like pros! Kudos to them all!
It was a "cool" adventure to sing in a museum on an "iceberg" created by artist Eric Rudd who is the
owner of the Berkshire Art Museum in North Adams. Also, the West Stockbridge Historical Society
invited us for a return performance! Holiday time kept us busy with several performances starting with
the Tree of Life at Berkshire Medical Center, the Red Lion Inn, caroling outside in Lenox, St. Joseph's
Church, Craneville Place Nursing Home, Sugar Hill Assisted Living, and Melbourne Place Assisted
Living. We had a very successful show, cabaret style, which included TV theme songs and a sing-a-
long. They were a hit! We are already preparing for our 50th anniversary show on September 14,
2019. Save the date and join us!
