Hi Region One!

What a contest! Records were broken, establishing a higher bar for the region to aim for. My hope is
that directors, section leaders, and more importantly the individual singers will make a commitment to
having all the right notes and words prior to next contest. The higher you raise the groups default line
the more you will actually be able to “take” on stage! Working on vocal production, vowel matching, a
full round resonant sound will make your singing more enjoyable for all. Use the summer to make a
plan for the upcoming year. Maybe think about musical educational classes, tag singing, trying other
vocal parts, learning how to direct.

My goal for everyone is that you have a successful, productive year and anything I can do to assist you,
I want to do for you!

New topic.....I had mentioned about a contest for a new idea/program that you have found successful for
your group. Please send that idea to me by July 1, and the winner will be announced at fall regional!

August 4 RQA Day with our 2018 Queens of Harmony Lustre!! This is a must for everyone and
anyone!! Hope to see a lot of you there, the day will be packed with education and fun of course!

Back to Fall Regional ....BLING Quartet will be with us! If you haven’t been to a regional in awhile, or
even if you have, come join us and see how much fun we have and what you can learn from the
regional. Bring someone along with you! We will be sending off our International competitors,
Saffron, Boston Accent & Coastline Show Chorus and VOCE, who placed 13 in the International

Quartet Contest in 2017.
