                                         TOUGH TIMES DO NOT LAST

Tough times never last, but tough people do, said Robert Schuller. There are no

guarantees that you will have a smooth, turbulent-free sail whether working for someone

or you are doing something on your own. Sometimes the going gets tough, things become
difficult, and you want to give up. The turbulence, the troubles and throes must come,

they are the litmus test of your tenacity, determination, and character. It is like a gold
going through fire before it could shine. There is no gain without pain, but if you can pay

the price, you will earn the prize. If you do not give up in the days of adversity, you will
               laugh last.

There will be dark moments in business, there will be unsteady tides: period of poor
sales, low patronages, rising bills or unpaid invoices. There will be times you will feel like

quitting, or going back, but do not. Winners never quit; quitters never win! Every winner
and successful businessman have felt that way at one point or the other. You will not be

an exception. From Edison, to Lincoln, to Newton, to Graham, to Henry Ford and Steve
Job, everyone you can name or have read of their great inventions and achievements had

fought the idea of quitting. They won because they did not give up. They were

determined, resolute and unyielding. They all got to their elastic limits, and went beyond
it, but they refused to break. They burnt their bridges, kept moving, and never looked

back despite all odds. At the end, they got to their destinations. That is the spirit and
               attitude of winners.

Sometimes, it may look like all hell is let loose on your business or on you career path.
Everything may stand still: no sales, no contracts, debtors not paying, wages piling up,

equipment breaking down and all sort of the negative narratives. That is the tough time
we are talking about – the dark hours! It is the time young businesses fold up, naive

entrepreneurs quit, most people turn their back on their goals, but you should not. Do
not give up, the darkest hour is just before the dawn of a new day.

There is an unseen benefit in every dark cloud, no night is so long that its morning will
not come. Businesses will not stay in the low forever, you will not be in the valley forever,
