it is just a phase, and it will fade away. Nothing comes to stay forever; not even the
toughest of times and seasons, it will pass. The tides will turn, the times will change, and
all will be well. Men and business have survived tough times, survived economic
hardships and recessions, if they could, you can, and you will!
However, there are strategies for surviving economic downturn. The key to overcoming
tough times is persistence, and re-invention. By persistence, it means you are doing
everything possible to stay in business including taking tough decisions and measures. It
means you are willing to bear a little hardship and discomfort till everything becomes
green again. Re-invention brings about an honest review of strategies and necessary
adjustments in styles. It may be a time to change tactics, product presentation,
packaging, advertising, and marketing as part of your survival strategies. Tough times
should bring the best out of you and your business. It should bring forth a worthy
creativity and unrivalled ingenuity that helps you stay afloat. Everyone can stay with you
in fair weather, but it is during tough times you know your loyal friend. Your fair-weather
allies will leave. It is not a time to get bitter about who leaves you, it is a time to know
who and with what you are left. It is a time to get better and re-invent.
Do not fold your hands and do nothing about the storm during tough times, it will sweep
you away. Do not just be positive and optimistic, act! Act fast and smartly, respond
intelligibly in the best possible, profitable, and productive way. Take the realities into
account and find a means to accommodate them. Tough times never last, but if you are
tough, you can always survive it. You will be amazed how strong you have become when
the storm is over.
