1. Review previous lessons.

2. Read the children a short passage from a story without full stops or any other punctuation.

3. Discuss the importance of sentences in a story.

4. Give the children lots of examples before letting them start their worksheet.

5. Emphasise that we are serving our readers whenever we produce writing; using correct punctuation is
one way of doing that.

Learning for Life (Fulfilment)

1. The children should realise the importance of punctuating their work to serve the reader.
