of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have
commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of
the age.” ‘
Way to Work
1. Review the biblical principles covered so far with regard to Europe.
2. Read the Great Commission in Matt 28:18-20 and discuss what this means
for us as Christians.
3. Use a wall map of Europe to put the names of people we know who are
working in any European country, or who have a heart for parts of the
continent, on paper tags with pins. This could be used for prayer during the
term.
4. Let the children suggest ways in which they, as children, can help to share
the good news about Jesus in Europe, eg prayer, writing letters/emails,
giving money.
5. Let each child select a nation in Europe to study at home and in school over
the next three weeks. Let them use the same guidelines used for the study
of their UK country. The work could be done on the computer or by hand
then displayed in a folder or scrapbook. The children should be encouraged
to find other people who already have a love for their particular nation.
Visitors from European nations may be invited in to share.
Learning for Life
The children will learn a considerable amount about their chosen country and will hopefully
begin to feel God’s love for that nation and others. They should be able to see their part in
the Great Commission, through prayer, financial support, lifestyle, etc.
TRAVELLING IN GOD’S WORLD
Truth to Teach
Isaiah 40:12-15 In these verses, God’s knowledge of the nations of the earth is
clear. He is aware of the position of all the nations but we have to
use maps or globes to view the whole earth at once.
