arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those
that have young.’

Way to Work (Means)

1. Review the previous lessons.

2. The children stand facing the teacher who gives lots of arm/hand movements
for them to copy to show position eg over, under, around, in, out, above, by,
near, up, down.

3. A hide and seek game could be played with the children hiding in various
places, eg under the table, around the home corner, near the door, up the
stairs.

4. Let the children suggest sentences with these words in, writing some of them
on the board. Explain that these are special little words which help us to know
which position things are in.

5. Talk about animal homes and the way in which God cares for the young. Show
them pictures of animals near their homes in story books or on other pictures
or photographs.

6. Explain the worksheet using the names of animal homes and positioning words

(prepositions).

7. Let the children write some of their own sentences using prepositions in their

exercise books or on paper.
