            6.  Compare plants and animals and which life processes are common to each group (see above).

            7.  Explain to the children that living things are made from cells. Show pictures of animal and
               plant cells or let the children find some in books or on the Internet.
               (Animal cells are more spherical; plant cells are more cuboid-shaped.) Tell them that things
               that were once alive are also made up of cells, e.g. wood, leather. Never alive things are made
               up of particles.

            8.  Let the children complete the worksheet or copy up their own notes.

            9.  End by reviewing the lesson and thanking God for his Creation.

        Learning for Life (Fulfilment)

            The children will have been introduced to the term’s topic and will be able to distinguish the three
            categories of things in the universe and the life processes which mark out living things. They will

            also, hopefully, be awed by God’s wisdom in Creation.
