Roles of the sports facility manager
The roles of the sports facility manager will vary depending on the facility in which
they work. However, there are core roles for every facility. These include:
• human resource management (recruitment, appraisal and training)
• financial management
• risk management
• strategic planning
• local government and community consultation
• developing and implementing of effective administration systems
• marketing and promotion
• seeking sponsorship
• customer service management
• facility maintenance management
• programming of activities.
