The personal appearance and hygiene of LSBA Employees, contractors, vendors and volunteers
reflects on the LSBA as a whole. Each Employee, contractor, vendor or volunteer is required to dress
appropriately for the individual’s job position or LSBA-related duties. This policy applies during work
hours, and during any after hours or off-site event at which an individual represents the LSBA. This
means that each Employee, contractor, vendor or volunteer is required to wear appropriate,
professional attire and where required, a name badge and/or licensing badge.
2.17 PERSONAL USE OF LSBA EQUIPMENT
It is the policy of the LSBA that all equipment and supplies furnished to Employees, such as
computers, fax machines, phones, smart phones, copy machines, tools, motor vehicles, stationery,
postage and overnight delivery services are normally reserved for conducting the business of the
LSBA. Any exception for personal use of such property must include the written permission of your
supervisor or Executive Director.
Employees are expected to use due care in the use of LSBA property and to utilize such property only
for authorized purposes. Negligence in the care and use of LSBA property may result in disciplinary
action, up to and including termination.
LSBA supplies and/or property may not be taken home without prior approval of the Employee’s
supervisor. LSBA property issued to Employees must be returned to the Association at the time of an
Employee’s termination, voluntary or involuntary, or at any time when requested by his/her supervisor
or the Executive Director.
2.18 TELEPHONE/VOICE MAIL USE
The LSBA’s telephone system is to be used primarily for business purposes, but the LSBA realizes
that some personal calls are necessary. Employees who make fraudulent, unlawful, or abusive
telephone calls or voice mails with the LSBA telephone/voice mail system will be subject to
disciplinary action, up to and including termination. Employees are not permitted to use the telephone
or voice mail system in any manner that is vulgar, disruptive or offensive to others in violation of
LSBA’s policies.
Voice mail, like other components of the LSBA’s telephone system, is primarily intended for business
use, and all messages are LSBA records. Employees should respond promptly to all voice mail
messages and delete old messages as practical. Although Employees need a password to access the
voice-mail system, there should be no expectation that voice mail messages are private.
An Employee who brings his/her personal cellular phone, Ipod, Ipad, or other electronic devices not
issued by the LSBA to work does so at his/her own risk. Any such personal device should be used in a
manner that does not interrupt or delay the Employee’s (or his/her coworker’s) completion of job
duties or the LSBA’s business operations. The use of camera phones and other similar surveillance
equipment while on LSBA business is strictly prohibited by this policy.
