MACCABI AJAX NETBALL CLUB – REPORT
Presidents: Natalie Dodge & Omer Ben-Moshe
After a disappointing 2020, the club and players were excited to return to the
netball court for the Autumn season which began in February.

MANC received 135 junior registrations (8-17 year olds) and 64 senior
registrations (18+). In addition, there were 21 registrations for the pups program, a
training only program open to Years 2-4.
4 x U11 teams were entered into the round robin season at the Kingston and
District Netball Association. Despite not playing for majority of 2020 and little
match play experience, the girls were very successful and managed to complete
the season with only 3 games cancelled due to Covid.

                  4 x U13 teams, 4 x U15 teams and 2 x U17 teams as well as 2 senior teams were
entered into the Caulfield and District Netball Association. The girls were up
against strong competition, but 3 teams (one in each of the U13, U15 and U17 age
groups) made it through to the finals that were played in a modified format on one
day (again due to Covid lockdown). Unfortunately, the U13 team and the U15 team
were knocked out in the first round. The U17 team had a convincing win in the first
round of the finals but just missed out on victory in the grand final.
The remaining 7 senior teams were registered over two associations, with a
number of girls playing multiple matches per week.
Prahran Netball Association, where we had 3 teams registered unfortunately cut
their season short with no finals due to Covid. Waverley Night Netball Association
delayed their finals series and out of our 4 teams, 2 just fell short in the grand final.
A special thanks to Nat Roth for once again running the pups program and to our
head coach, Tali Friede, who worked tirelessly throughout the season.
