MACCABI VICTORIA GOLF CLUB - REPORT
President: Peter Janovic
After a bright start in 2021 for golf most of the year was in ‘enforced hibernation’.
Only a few events were completed this year due to the Covid restrictions.
The National Championships were held in the Mornington Peninsula and we were
pleased to have a good interstate representation.
Victoria was well represented in the winners circle. The overall winner was Steven
Ehrenreich with Bob Sadlon winning B Grade and Louis Stuk C Grade. The ladies
champion was Elana Green.
The other event completed was the Kleid Gordon with Morris Davidson winning
from Adam Blumberg and Peter Janovic.
We are hopeful to host the 2021 Kirzner Silbersher Shield in Yarrawonga before
the year’s end.
We were able to hold the Ladies Day event at Waterford Valley which was won by
Ingrid Brouze.
Several of our other events including the singles matchplay were not able to be
completed.
Our innovative Junior Program where we are introducing children from school will
be back in 2022.
We are looking forward to a bright 2022 with our regular events and looking to
introduce some innovation where possible.
We look forward to seeing all our regular attendees and to welcome new
members.
There have been some changes with Tony Beaconsfield stepping down from the
Presidency while still remaining on the committee as well as the departure of
Elana Green and Phillip Weeden all of whom we wish to thank for their
contributions over many years.
We welcome new committee members Wendy Beron, Joan Pask and Rob Spilkin.
Wishing everyone a good end to 2021 with the hope of a better year to come in
2022.
