AJAX JUNIOR FOOTBALL CLUB - REPORT

Season 2021 was a record season for registrations for the AJAX Junior Football
Club with over 850 players across both the Junior Football Club and Auskick
program, including over 100 girls which is also a record.
Although the season was cut short, with only 9 rounds, there were still many
positives to come from the season. The Club fielded 24 teams (two more than in
2019), which included two mixed/boy’s teams in each age group from Under 8’s to
Under 16’s, except Under 9’s and 12’s that had three. The Club also fielded an
U17’s boys’ team and three girls’ teams comprising Under 12, Under 14 and Under
18 age groups, with around 80 girls playing.

The 24 teams would not function or take the field each week without the
assistance of our talented Coaches and dedicated Team Managers. There is a lot
of work that goes on behind the scenes on preseason, game day and during each
week.
We had an excellent group of coaches which includes past or current AJAX senior
players and our ever-reliable parent coaches. Our very dedicated coaching group
put in an enormous amount of time and effort into our kids, ensuring that they
develop as better footballers and have great fun along the way.
The success of the Club is the result of very supportive sponsors, outstanding
executive and committee teams and fantastic game day volunteers of coaches,
team managers, trainers, umpires, and others that enable our boys and girls to
enjoy their football each week.
A financially strong result, resulting from outstanding membership numbers, strong
sponsorships and generous volunteers helping to reduce costs.
We would also like to thank our committee members who dedicate timeless hours
both in the lead up to the season and during the season. Each of our Committee
members play a pivotal role in ensuring the continued success, smooth running
and growth of our club. Thank you to each of the General and Executive
Committee members for the strong contributions you have made:

The entire executive comprising Chris Grodski, David Michelson, Elliot Swart and
Romy Katz that work closely with us on all matters involved in running the football
club. Additional to the Executive is an amazing committee that included Mel
Raleigh, Rod Nirens, Jason Wrobel, Jeff Alford, Bianca Janover and Elana Alford.
We would also like to thank the hard-working Football Committee which is made
up of Tim Bursztyn, Jason Wrobel, Sean Ickowicz and Jamie Davis.
We are looking forward to a successful full season in 2022
