UP AND AWARE - 8
Most people have inner conflicts every day and many times in a day. An internal conflict
can make a person feel frustrated, irritated or upset and sometimes people take that out on
others, who do not know about the person’s inner conflict. For example, Meera wants to go
for a film with her friends but also knows that she needs to study for a test. She goes home
and finds her younger sister using her colour pencils to make a drawing. She yells at her
sister who starts crying without comprehending why Meera is angry when she had already
asked for permission to use her colour pencils.
Do you remember a time when you got angry, upset or irritated with someone because you
had an inner conflict? Write about it.

When people let out their anger or irritation from an inner conflict, on another person or
persons, then it can create an external conflict. For example, Meera yelled at her sister who
started crying and complained to her parents. Now Meera has an:

watching a film or studying for her test being punished by parents
