Malavath Poorna recently became the youngest girl to climb the Mount Everest at the
age of 13 years. Although she trained hard for eight months, Poorna had never climbed
a mountain before she became a part of this adventure. Poorna, born to a poor farmer

family in Andhra Pradesh, was greatly encouraged by her parents to follow her dream.
