this, there are qualitative and quantitative data in this study. The qualitative data
include students‘ and teachers‘ responses of the IBLL model. This informs
whether or not the model is feasible and qualified. The interesting, applicable, and
practical model are expected in the study. The data of instructional model is
elaborated qualitatively such as how student activities, assignments, and
classroom managements are. These data are gained through the observation and
interview to students and lecturers after doing the try-out of the model. In
addition, the study provides field notes during the classroom actions.
Subsequently, the quantitative data are gained through the questionnaire
distributed to the experts, students, lecturers, and observers during and after the
try-out. The instrument of questionnaires is used to find out the students‘ and
lecturers‘ perception, experts‘ judgment of the IBLL model, and students‘
achievement in the end of the learning class. The contents of questionnaire refers
to evaluate whether the developed model are in accordance to language learning-
teaching principles or not. The data gained through questionnaire are calculated
statistically and then are interpreted them descriptively.
Research Instruments
The data are gathered through interviews, questionnaires, and classroom
observations. The following are the instruments used to collect the data of the
study:
a. Questionnaire
There are three types of questionnaires used to collect the data for the
developed product. Those questionnaires are used for needs analyses, product
validation with a number of experts, and for students and teachers‘ perception
aimed to know their feedback about the developed model and instructional
materials. Each questionnaire has various items depending on the data desired.
The items of the questionnaires are designed in close-ended and open-ended
forms. The following are explanations of the questionnaires.
1) Questionnaire for Needs Analysis
The questionnaire of needs analyses is compiled with open-ended and
close-ended items. It is contributed to the students in the writing classroom. This
questionnaire is designed to gather information about the students‘ necessaries,
