Reported concerns will be investigated in a timely manner. GESMN prohibits any type of retaliation or
reprisal against an employee who, in good faith, reports a suspected ethical, policy, or legal violation.
Employees who believe they have experienced retaliation should contact Human Resources
immediately.
VIOLATIONS OF CONDUCT
Employees are expected to abide by the Code of Ethics and treat co-workers, participants, customers,
and volunteers courteously and respectfully. They are responsible for maintaining positive and
productive working relationships.
The following list provides some examples, not an exhaustive list of unacceptable behaviors in the
workplace.
1. Discourteous treatment of co-workers, management, participants, customers, volunteers,
suppliers, vendors, or donors.
2. Harassment or discrimination against an employee, participant, customer, volunteer, guest,
donor, or anyone else while on Goodwill-Easter Seals premises or engaged in GESMN
business.
3. Failure to follow a supervisor’s instructions, defiance of a supervisor’s instructions, or
general insubordination.
4. Failure to attend work each scheduled workday at the scheduled work time or call in an
unexcused absence.
5. Using profane, improper, or offensive language.
6. Failure to accurately and honestly complete personal time records.
7. Removing product, property, documents, or information from the organization’s premises
without permission. This includes interfering in any way with donated products.
8. Misuse, destruction, or damage to GESMN property or a customer’s, participant’s,
volunteer’s, or another employee’s property.
