Together, we prepare people for work.
ACCOMMODATIONS FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES
Goodwill-Easter Seals recognizes and supports its obligation to reasonably accommodate job applicants
and employees with known physical or mental disabilities who can perform the job's essential functions,
with or without reasonable accommodation. GESMN will endeavor to provide reasonable
accommodation to otherwise qualified job applicants and employees with known physical or mental
disabilities unless doing so would impose an undue hardship on the organization or pose a direct threat
of substantial harm to the employee or others.
An applicant or employee who believes they need a reasonable accommodation of a disability should
discuss the need for possible accommodation with Human Resources. Goodwill-Easter Seals will engage
in an interactive process with employees who request an accommodation. An individual who requests
an accommodation may be asked to provide a statement from a physician or other health care
professional identifying the disability and explaining whether the individual is able to perform the
essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation. An employee will have a
reasonable amount of time to provide such information. An employee who requests a leave of absence
as a reasonable accommodation must also provide the same information within a reasonable amount of
time.
PREGNANCY ACCOMMODATIONS
Goodwill-Easter Seals is required by law to provide reasonable accommodations, if requested, to a
pregnant employee with the advice of her licensed health care provider or certified doula, if the
accommodation does not impose an undue hardship on GESMN’s operations. GESMN will provide more
frequent restroom, food, water breaks, seating, and limits on lifting over 20 pounds without proof of
medical necessity. Employees are not required to accept an accommodation or take a leave due to the
pregnancy. GESMN will not retaliate against employees for requesting such accommodations.
REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION OF AN INDIVIDUAL’S RELIGIOUS BELIEFS AND PRACTICES
Goodwill-Easter Seals recognizes and supports its obligation to reasonably accommodate job applicants
and employees with religious beliefs or practices who can perform the job's essential functions, with or
without reasonable accommodation. GESMN will provide reasonable accommodation to otherwise
qualified job applicants and employees unless doing so would impose an undue hardship on the
organization.
An applicant or employee who believes they need a reasonable accommodation of a religious belief or
practice (including dress) should discuss the need for possible accommodation with their manager or
Human Resources.
