Dear Mr. Bloomberg:

I am writing to express how appreciative I am to receive this scholarship. This gift will truly relieve a
lot of the stress that comes from financing a medical school education.

I am currently a second-year medical student with aspirations to pursue a career in pediatric surgery.
I plan to eventually return to academics to teach future generations of medical students. Also, while
working in pediatrics, I hope to inspire young people to consider a career in the health professions.

I grew up in Pensacola, along with my mom, dad, and three brothers. My family does not have a
medical background, but it has always been my dream to become a doctor. I fell in love with science
when I was young, which later translated into a love for medicine. I attended the University of South
Florida, where I earned my degree in Biomedical Sciences.

Once again, Mr. Bloomberg, I would like to thank for your generous investment into my future. It
truly means a lot to me and my fellow classmates. For many of my peers growing up, money was a
major deterrent when considering medical school. I have thought about how long it would take me
to repay my loans, depending on what field I work in. This has a great weight off of my shoulders,
and I cannot thank you enough.
