National Professional Qualification for Senior Leaders (NPQSL)*
Our National Professional Qualification for Senior Leaders (NPQSL) is delivered with Ambition School Leadership, is run on a bi-annual basis
and returns for 2019/20.

The NPQSL is a dynamic and challenging programme designed to develop the practice of current or aspiring senior leaders. It combines
high-quality face-to-face training with 360˚ feedback review, and will cover the following topics:
• Leading: influence, motivation and vision
• Leading change: sustainable change management
• Leading data: data informed leadership
• Leading teaching and learning: improving classroom practice
• Leading curriculum: delivering curriculum excellence
• Leading a school for all: inclusion and effective pastoral support
• Leading teams and people: delivering through others
• Leading staff development: professional development and staff management
• Leading school improvement: self-evaluation and strategic planning

Participants will need to lead an improvement project across their school, lasting at least two terms, to reduce variation in pupil progress
and attainment and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of teaching, to be submitted as a 6000-word assessment. Therefore, it is
essential that this is something the academy understands and will support when placing participants on the programme.
Participants will be assessed through a written assignment to ensure that they have reached the qualification requirements plus a viva
interview to assess them against the more challenging Ambition bar.
Participants commit to stay in their sponsoring school for the duration of the programme.
*a minimum number of 15 delegates from across the Trust is required for the programme to run
