Competition, in the semi-finals the B and C teams lost by only one goal and
the D team by a slightly wider margin. “Friendly” matches were played against
Kedron.
Against stronger opponents in G.P.S. fixtures, the teams still acquitted them
selves creditably. I believe it can be said that the A team enjoyed their matches.
The B graders, working well as a team, won against St. Aidans and St. Hildas
and drew with Clayfield College. Although there was no C grade competition,
the team defeated all their opponents in “friendly” matches, even State High
who had proved too stronger rivals for the others.
Our Saturday matches were specially enjoyable, as, after the struggle of the
game, we were revived by morning or afternoon tea.
Well deserved thanks go to the teachers, Miss Rohde and Miss Greenway,
for the time and effort they put into training teams. Thanks go to all who
aided in any way the success of the competitions.
