CUNNINGHAM
      HOUSE MISTRESS: Miss E. Nixon.
      HOUSE MASTER: Mr. B. Gallwey.
      BOY HOUSE CAPTAIN: Alec Smith.
GIRL 11 OISE CAPTAIN: Nancy Carey.
CUNNINGHAM HOUSE did better this year at the Swimming Carnival
held at the Valley Baths. The girls came first in their section but the
House came second in the total score. It was pleasing to see that this
result was obtained from a combined effort, though Margaret Campbell was
the Under 15 Girl Champion, and Robyn Drevesen swam creditably.
In the Winter sports, rugby league, soccer and basketball, Cunning
ham boys bad a decided win in the basketball competitions. Soccer com
petition was keen this year and Cunningham was placed second. D. Gibson
must be congratulated for his excellent play throughout the season. Cunning
ham was well represented in the School rugby league teams. G. Pearson
did exceedingly well in the “A” grade team, R. Ricketts and W. Blaik
played well, and were selected to represent Queensland in the nine stone
team. In the girls' inter-house basketball, Cunningham did not do very
well, and the girls are willing to admit that it is not the winning that makes
the game, but the participating. However, many Cunninghamites represented
the School in basketball. Margaret Barrow played in the “A” team.
A number of “Cunninghams” played for the School in the hockey, a
comparatively new sport at the School. Many girls from Cunningham played
ball games for their School at the G.P.S. sports.
In the Athletics Carnival this year, Cunningham slipped back to
third position. W. Blaik must be congratulated for becoming the under
sixteen champion, and R. Ricketts showed his ability in the sports field by
coming only a few points behind Blaik. The open girl championship went
      to Heather Sands of Cunningham.
The cross-country is one of the main attractions of the year, Cunning
      ham again came third.
The boys and girls of Cunningham House would like to thank their
House Master and Mistress, Mr. B. Gallwey and Miss E. Nixon, and all
other teachers concerned, for their valuable guidance. The House Captains
would also like to thank the students for participating in the various
sporting activities and thereby helping to make this year a successful one.

      KENNEDY

      HOUSE MISTRESS: Mrs. Taege.
      HOUSE MASTER: Mr. Christensen.
HOUSE CAPTAINS: Sharon Cordwell, John Thallon.
THIS year Kennedy House was unable to win a major sporting cup, owing,
not to the sporting inability of its members, but to the unusual strength
      of the opposing Houses.
The first major sporting activity, which was again held at the Valley
