        July 4-12 : Juniors went to see "Richard II. in the Albert Hall.
        July 14 : "Music hath charms to soothe the savage beast.” BRAMSTON.
               Terms exams started today. We were then duly soothed at
               the Orchestral Concert in the City Hall.
        July 25 : “Egad, I think the interpreter is hardest to be understood of
               the two.” R. B. SHERADAN.
               New tape recorder used to record French broadcasts.
        July 30 : "For the night shows stars and women in a better light.”
               BYRON.
               Second term social in the Wynnum R.S.L. Hall.
        August 1 : B.H.P. film shown to Seniors.
        August 2 : Boys’ football and tennis teams went to Nambour. Girls
               competed in G.P.S. athletics carnival at the ’Gabba.
               Four cadets took part in the Earl Robert’s Shoot at Enoggera.
        August 5 : Advance party of cadets left for camp. Miss Wright
               addressed the Crusader meeting. Gas installed in the new
               Physics lab.
        August 6 : "If you are surprised at the number of our maladies, count
               our cooks.” SENECA.
               Cadets went to camp.
        August 8 : First of the girls’ lunch hour concerts.
               "We only part to meet again.”
               August Vacation.
        August 25 : School resumed. Mr. R. Heaton gave the address at term
               service.
        August 26 : “I wish I loved the Human Race,
                  I wish I loved its silly face.” W. RALEIGH.
               Class photographs taken.
        September 2 : Miss Reddiex replaced Miss Stubbs in the Domestic
               Science section.
        September 3 : “Victory belongs to the most persevering.” NAPOLEON.
               At our Inter-House Athletics Carnival held for the first time
               on our new oval the victory belonged to Griffith.
        September 5 : "What the orators want in depth they give to you in
               length.” MONTESQUIEU.
               Inter-House debates commenced today with teams of Sub-Junior
               girls. First use of the new film projector.
        September 8 : "Soprano, basso, even the contra-alto,
                     Wished her five fathom under the Rialto.” BYRON.
               Miss Pigram started the High School Girls' Choir practising
               their songs for speech night.
        September 10 : The boys’ Annual Reliability Trial was won by Lilley
               House boys. The persevering individual who arrived back first
               was Stewart Robinson of Wentworth.
        September 12 : Primary Schools’ Athletics meet at Kitchener Park.
        September 15 : The grassing of the oval was started with voluntary
        (?) labour.
        September 25 : Q4SA Athletics Carnival at the Exhibition Grounds.
        October 1 : Passing-out Parade of the School Cadet unit reviewed by
        Lt. Cl. Kelly, Commanding Officer 9th Battalion. Programme
        included Pipe Band, Recital and a Mock Battle.
        With the closing of the diary for this year we wish all
        candidates for the forthcoming examinations the best of luck.
