SOCCER, 1957
A good year. After a couple of early defeats the team settled
down and eventually won their premiership. There were good spare
players for almost all positions, and even during the ’flu season the boys
were able to field a capable team.
First Form were more prominent than usual. During House and Form
matches, they at least held their own and showed the benefit of their
Saturday play. Most have learnt to play as a team rather than as
individuals.
Bruce Bool and Russell Dalzell gained State blazers. They
represented Queensland on a trip to New South Wales and, although
defeated, had an enjoyable tour. Both were following family records of
State representation.
Thanks to those who played so well and “Good Luck” to those who
have finished with school soccer.
