The specific chapter Gondwe sent explained that I had
been involved in occult practices, which described nearly
every symptom I had of tapping into the spiritual realm. It
pointed me to scripture and explained strongholds and how

the enemy can gain a stronghold. His books also told me to
focus on Jesus Christ. I read scripture in his books and began
reading the New Testament. In reading the New Testament,
I came across the following:

Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would
come after me, let him deny himself and take up
his cross and follow me. For whoever would save

his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for
my sake will find it.” Matthew 16:24-25 ESV

As I read, I understood. I knew Jesus Christ wanted
me to follow Him, and I could not follow Him if I did not
know Him. I could not know Him if I did not read His Word.

I was beginning to understand that God wanted me to seek
