and resources, to ensure the availability of skilled personnel at the
local level of health care provision.

- It means the effective involvement of public with the health sector.
7- Healthy city strategies:
- Develop a strong health services promotion process based on
justice and equity.
Healthy City
A healthy city is defined as city that is continually creating and
improving that physical and social environment and expending those
community resources which enable people to mutually support each other
in performing all the function of life and in developing to their maximum
potential.
Characteristics of a healthy city
1. A clean, safe physical environment of high quality (including housing
quality).
2. An ecosystem that is stable now and sustainable in the long term.
3. A high degree of participation and control by public over decisions
over affecting their health and well-being.
4. The meeting of basic needs (for food, water, shelter, income, safety
and work) for all cities' residents
5. Access to a wide variety of experiences and resources, with
opportunity for ample interaction.
6. A diverse, vital, and innovative city economy.
7. An optimum level of appropriate public health and sick care services
accessible to all.
