5 May 2025 Abbott UK Company Car Handbook1.1 THE PRINCIPLES OF THE SCHEME ARE AS FOLLOWS:%u2022 Safety %u2013 the health and safety of all drivers is a high priority for Abbott. All employees who driveon company business, whether in a Company Car, a rental, courtesy or pool vehicle should read and comply with all aspects of the Business Use of Company & Private Vehicles Procedure(UKEHS- PR-T07)%u2022 Telematics %u2013 are designed to ensure the safety of employees, their families and other road users. All Company Car/FCAP drivers must adhere to the Telematics Policy which can be found in section 33.%u2022 Eligibility %u2013 you may only drive a company vehicle if you have a full UK driving licence. Employeeswho have transferred to the UK for more than a year on assignment may only drive on their international driving licence for 12 months or less, please consult UK government guidelines. During the year the employee must obtain a UK driving licence by taking the UK Driving test. Employees who fail to obtain a UK driving licence will not be eligible to drive a company vehicle and the vehicle may be withdrawn.%u2022 Choice %u2013 our Company car scheme aims to be attractive to retain and motivate employees in terms ofchoice of car, lease periods, capital trade up and trade down options. The car must be suitable for business use. Please refer to section 10-11 Cost %u2013 cars represent a substantial ongoing expense for the Company. The scheme needs to be managed as cost effectively as possible within the agreed parameters of the Company policy guidelines.%u2022 Environmentally Friendly %u2013 Abbott provides a range of Electric Vehicles to fulfil business needs aligned to our Abbott Sustainability Plan 2030. Specific Hybrid vehicles (where a deviation has been approved by the Affiliate Management Representative (AMR)) may be available in limited cases.2 ARE YOU QUALIFIED TO DRIVE A COMPANY VEHICLE?Applies to all employees and approved drivers who:%u2022 Drive a vehicle owned by Abbott%u2022 Drive a vehicle leased or hired by Abbott%u2022 Receive a car allowance through their salary%u2022 Drive their own vehicle for occasional business purposes.You are personally responsible for ensuring that you or your pre-approved nominated driver has a driver%u2019slicence and are qualified and legally entitled to drive the relevant vehicle within the UK. You and your nominated driver must register in the TTC Continuum System.You are required to read and confirm understanding of the UKEHS-PR-T07 policy via LMS to confirm your eligibility to drive on company business.In addition, once you join the company you will be asked to complete an e-declaration on the TTC Continuum System who will check the DVLA records on Abbott%u2019s behalf.%u2022 It will confirm that you have a current valid driver%u2019s licence.%u2022 If there are any endorsements or penalty points on your licence.%u2022 If you have any prosecutions pending.%u2022 And gives permission for us to verify this information with the appropriate licencing authority (e.g. DVLA).
