9 May 2025 Abbott UK Company Car Handbook6 DRIVING LICENCE MANDATESAll employees who are expected to drive on company business will have their eligibility to drive checked by the Fleet Coordinator or BHR through DVLA. In addition, the Fleet Coordinator or BHR will be required to see their original driving licence and - if registered with the DVLA - a printout / electronic copy of an online check.In addition, Abbott requires all employees who drive on its behalf, or drive a company vehicle for privateuse to sign an electronic driving licence mandate (e-Declaration) which authorises the company to carry out licence checks via TTC Continuum on behalf of the company.FMG Risk Management is responsible for sending the link to the driver. The driver will be required to %u201csign on%u201d, upload driver licence details and complete the e-Declaration.Failure to complete this e-Declaration may result in disciplinary action and the non-payment of expenses.The disciplinary action may have the consequence of termination of employment if the employee does not comply in completing the mandate.Please refer to the Business Use of Company & Private Vehicles Procedure (UKEHS-PR-T07) for further policy stipulations regarding self-disclosure and driving licence mandates.7 ADDITIONAL AUTHORISED DRIVERSDrivers may nominate up to one additional driver to drive their Company Car, subject to the following conditions:%u2022 They are a partner, spouse, child or parent living at the same address as the Abbott employee.%u2022 21+ years of age%u2022 Full UK/EU Driving Licence holder for at least 1 year (if new driver).The nomination must be done on the TTC Continuum system. The driver must add the following details onlyof the nominee: forename, surname, email address. When this is done, the nominee will receive a Continuum sign-up email which allow them to set up their account and submit their driver licence details and consent to check their driver licence. The nominated driver is not allowed to drive company cars until they issued to permit to drive.Please note that all drivers must give their consent again every 3 years to check their driver licences.Please contact RiskSolutions@fmg.co.uk if you require any further assistance.No other family members may drive the company vehicle unless they have received prior written approval from Christina Harbour as the custodian of Abbott insurances. Abbott reserves the right to exclude additional driversif they do not comply with the above, or they have a high number of driving offences/points or have previously been banned from driving. Please note: all licences are checked directly with the DVLA.Other Abbott employees with a full UK driving licence if they%u2019re registered and got permit to drive in TTC Continuum system and with the car holder%u2019s permission are able to drive the car on company business. Provisional licence holders are not permitted to drive Company Cars.No other persons are allowed to drive the Company Car without Abbott Fleet authorisation, with the exception of an emergency. An emergency is deemed to be a situation where something has happened and there is no alternative, for example, an accident has taken place. Breach or abuse of this rule will lead to disciplinary action against the employee, and the Company will pursue damages against the unauthorised driver, should any damage have occurred.
