                                    8 May 2025 Abbott UK Company Car Handbook4 COMPANY CAR ENTITLEMENTJob Need %u2013 Applies to employees who as a requirement of their job role drive at least 10,000 miles per annumon Company business or require a vehicle to carry out their job for some other specified business critical reason.This requirement must be regular and sustainable over at least four years.Benefit/perk %u2013 Applies to employees whose job grade meets the Company%u2019s requirements to be invited to join the Company Car scheme. The decision on which employees are eligible to a Company car due to their position will be based purely on market practice. Benefit or perk drivers who travel between 2,500 but less than 10,000 business miles may be entitled to receive a cash allowance as an alternative to a Company car. Benefits or perk drivers who travel less than 2,500 will be offered cash allowance only.Eligibility to a Company car or changes to a car grade will be notified to the individual in writing by BHR.5 CHANGE OF STATUSThe following policy will apply where an employees%u2019 status within the Company or scheme changes:%u2022 Where an employee has the facility of a vehicle on a %u2018job need%u2019 basis and then applies for or is appointed to a role for which there is no job need but it is offered as a %u2018benefit/perk%u2019, the company car will be retained until the end of the lease period.%u2022 Where an employee elects to go from full time to part time, they will receive a car allowance, not a company car. In these types of events, the employee will retain the use of the company car for a maximum of a twelve-week period and then transfer to a car allowance.%u2022 Employees who are promoted will not change their current Company Vehicle until the end of its lease, and any capital %u2018trade up%u2019 or %u2018trade down%u2019 payments if applicable will continue until the end of the agreed term.%u2022 A Company Vehicle may be retained up to a maximum period of 12 months during a period ofmaternity leave, paternity leave or adoption leave subject to certain conditions including payment of any employee contributions. However, any fuel card eligibility will be withdrawn in all cases.%u2022 A Company Vehicle may be retained up to a maximum period of 26 weeks during a period of otherlong-term absence, subject to certain conditions including payment of any employee contributions. However, any fuel card eligibility will be withdrawn. The company vehicle will be withdrawn after 26 weeks absence.%u2022 New starters and employees joining the Company Vehicle scheme may be provided with a valeted and safety checked vehicle from the allocation pool until the vehicle reaches the end of its life cycle. This vehicle will normally be in line with their Company Vehicle entitlement. A hire car will be provided if no pool car is available.%u2022 If employees have a disability that requires a modified vehicle and subject to medical approval, the Company will meet the cost of any modifications. This does not include lumbar support which are available within the employee%u2019s vehicle choice.
