11 May 2025 Abbott UK Company Car HandbookIf an employee with a company vehicle believes they cannot operate an electric vehicle (EV), they will need to opt for a cash allowance instead. However, if there are specific business reasons for the employee to drive a company vehicle, they must complete an Abbott EV Deviation form, which can be obtained from the Fleet Coordinator.Once the form is completed, the employee should send it to their line manager and obtain full approval from their Business Advisory Council (BAC) member and the Affiliate Management Representative (AMR) before returning it to the Fleet Coordinator. If Abbott approves the deviation, the employee will have the option to choose from two hybrid vehicles per Driver Band, each with a maximum CO2 emission of 75g (Ultra Low Emissions Vehicle).10.1 ELECTRIC VEHICLE HOME CHARGERUpon selecting a new company vehicle, the driver may choose to purchase a home charger with BG (Arvals current provider) which can be rolled into the lease. Depending on the Drivers banding allowance and whether they have gone into trade up will determine whether it is deducted from the employee as part of trade up orincluded within the driver's band allowance. Drivers are free to purchase and pay for a home charger with any provider they select but only one purchased through Arval can be rolled into the lease.Arval must be notified by the driver that they wish to have a charger rolled into their lease at the point of order, this cannot be arranged afterwards.
