1.3 Process of blood circulation
The superior and Inferior Vena Cava the deoxygenated blood that bring from the various
body parts into ehptiti the Tricuspid Valve (Right AN Valve) into the Right Ventricle from
there it is pumped into the Pulmonary Artery. The Pulmonary Artery carries the venous
blood to the lungs where exchange of gases takes place (carbon dioxide gas is removed and
oxygen is absorbed). This oxygenated blood is then circulation via hepulm nary veins to the
left side of the heart. (The Pulmonary circulation in the body is the only place in which veins
carry oxygenated blood and arteries cam deoxygenated blood).

2.1 Common symptoms of disorders of cardiovascular system
a) Dyspnea: breathlessness
b) Palpitations: awareness about one's own heartbeat
c) Edema: swelling of the feet or generalized swelling due to excess
body fluid
d) Angina pectoris: chest pain which is cardiac in origin and occurs due
to inadequate blood supply to the muscles of the heart.
e) Syncope: (fainting or blackout) - this is the transient loss of
consciousness due to inadequate blood supply to the brain.
f) Heart murmur: vibration sound heard in addition to normal heart sounds.
