As we stated, in the beginning, most of our 301 tests did not return any results, so to see a
               common result among tests leads us to believe there is something going on behind the scenes
               here

               The indexation of the 301 is a major factor we believe but there are many other commonalities
               between these specific tests…

               Disclaimer: We do not believe creating a new 301 redirect to your GMB every week would be a
               good solution to maintain these rankings. It’s not sustainable. We are testing this of course, but
               these results could be caused by the outcome of creating 301 redirects, NOT the redirect itself…

















               Update: July 31,2020


               In most cases, like expired domains, we did not see results from the redirect. But a few of our
               tests seem to consistently show an uptick in rankings and traffic, slowly followed by a return to
               the previous positions. Let’s review the nitty-gritty details.

               The first thing to note is that after setting up the 301 redirects, not only did our sites stay indexed
               for a LONG time (most of them still are) but rankings maintained fairly well and actually seemed to
               improve in quite a few cases!


















               While there were a few variations in these tests, there were also similarities. All 301 redirects
               were indexed for quite some time, about 5 years. But most importantly, they had fully built
