4. Hire Equipment
The positioning of the trolley and shoe cleaning areas are out of sync with the rest of the golfing facility.
When looking at the customer journey map, they can end up zigzagging across the resort to collect trolleys,
clean shoes.
From experience, we are aware that it can be a regular occurrence that trolleys can get stuck in a dispenser,
meaning that staff must leave the shop unattended to deal with the issue. It is very unusual to not have the
dispenser within proximity of the pro-shop. Ideally, golfers would be encouraged to return trolleys to the
dispenser after use; however, this is unlikely as they will not track back across the car park. This again could
lead to lost revenue as golfers arriving at the venue can just pick up spare trolleys in the carpark without
paying for them.
In the long term, we would recommend moving away from the coin-operated system to a ticket system.
This allows for sales to be better recorded and decreases the chances of vandalism to gain access to the
coin box. The current price of €3 is low and should be increased to €4.
