Shayna Krasnoff
M.S., Applied Economics and Management | SC Johnson School of
Business
Shayna is a first-year master’s student in the Dyson School of Applied
Economics and Management, concentrating on the fields of food and
agricultural economics and development economics. Prior to Cornell,
Shayna served as an Agribusiness and Economic Development
volunteer with the Peace Corps in Uganda. There she worked with a
district farmers’ association to help farmer and women’s groups develop
their agribusinesses, engage in value addition, and improve their
livelihoods. Shayna is passionate about the intersection of research,
agricultural supply chain development, and markets for farmers.
Yifan Liu
M.P.A., Cornell Institute for Public Affairs | College of Human Ecology
Yifan is a second-year M.P.A. candidate at CIPA, concentrating in
environmental policy with a specific focus on climate change and
agriculture development. Her research explores the economic and M-Farm
environmental effects of climate policy and finance at the household
and corporate levels. Prior to Cornell, she graduated from Beijing
Foreign Studies University with a double major in economics and
European studies. She has accumulated practical experience through
working for the World Bank, Climate Bonds Initiative, and Paulson
Institute. She believes in the role of social entrepreneurship and public-
private partnerships in achieving sustainable development.
Yichen Shi
M.P.A., Cornell Institute for Public Affairs | College of Human Ecology
Yichen is a second-year fellow at the Cornell Institute for Public
Affairs, concentrating on economic and financial policy. Prior to
coming to CIPA, he co-founded a non-profit, Dream Building Service
Association, focusing on education in sub-urban areas in Nairobi,
Kenya. He has diverse experiences in financial service companies,
venture capital, and startups; and is driven by the belief that appropriate
business models and technological innovation can empower people and
improve livelihoods. Yichen has a bachelor's degree in economics from
the Capital University of Economics and Business in Beijing, China.
