HOW TO UNDERSTAND PEOPLE BETTER . . .

Jung also distinguished four basic human functions, namely think-
ing, feeling, intuition, and sensing. The terms introvert and extro-
vert as well as these four basic human functions form the framework
of the Style Insights assessment. Jung distinguished eight types:

                   • Introverted feeling

                   • Introverted intuition

                   • Introverted thinking
                   • Introverted feeling

                   • Extroverted feeling

                   • Extroverted intuition

                   • Extroverted thinking
                   • Extroverted feeling

Marston, in turn, summarized human behavior into four behavior
patterns and assigned a color to each behavioral pattern to make it
               easier to distinguish them:

                   • Red – dominant
                   • Yellow – influential

                   • Green – steady

                   • Blue – compliant or conscientious
Building on the theories of Carl Gustav Jung and William Moulton

Marston, Jolande Jacobi crafted a nuanced model that merged be-
havioral patterns into distinct types. These types, characterized by
overlapping tendencies, illustrated the complexity of human be-
havior and led to the concept of mixed types. Over time, various
psychologists have expanded on this concept, further refining and
differentiating the spectrum of behavioral styles to enhance our un-

               derstanding of human behavior.
