THE POWER OF READING PEOPLE

These colors apply to the “high” scores in each of the four dimen-
sions, which correspond to four of the eight distinctive styles rep-
resented by the DISC model. The other style in each dimension
can be considered opposite to that “high” style. This method gives
us a foundation for understanding how people respond differently
to their circumstances and the demands of the workplace and their

           personal lives.

Key Point: Consider the Whole Person as

                               You Work With Styles

Understanding these four behavioral components is crucial as

they interplay uniquely in each individual, creating a compos-
ite behavioral style profile. While some may exhibit one or two
most observable or intense traits, it’s the collective influence of
all four that shapes one’s complete behavioral pattern.

           Always Question Assessments

For each described behavioral style, overemphasis on particular
traits can transform strengths into potential hindrances—this may
happen in stressful situations, for example. The intensity of each

factor plays a role in how your behavior will display in daily activi-
ties and interactions. By understanding each of the four dimensions
(factors), TTI has created a continuum of behavioral styles that will
help you better identify your approach to different situations.

The quick reference descriptions that follow will help you identify
the four primary “high” styles. These styles are based on the observ-
able traits or tendencies one is likely to display:
