CORE Construction
ÁRBOL DE LA VIDA AND LIKINS HALL AT
UNIVERSITY OF ARIZONA
The Arbol De La Vida and Likins Hall project, built for University of Arizona, included the
new construction of two six-story 332,925 square foot undergraduate residence halls located
in Tucson, Arizona. The facilities house over 1,000 students attending the university. The
residence halls were constructed using local materials and traditional red brick cladding.
The project also featured traditional suite style double rooms and bathrooms as well as
lounges, lobbies, study rooms, kitchen/dining spaces, laundry rooms, conference rooms,
recreational rooms, and enclosed outdoor spaces to meet residential needs. The U.S. Green
Building Council certified this project as LEED Platinum for environmentally efficient storm
water capture, daylighting and climate management systems, and indoor courtyards. Due
to CORE’s efficient construction practices for both interior and exterior spaces of the Arbol
De La Vida and Likins Hall project, Likins Hall now accommodates the highest percentage of
handicap accessible accommodations in the State of Arizona.
