PROACTIVE POLICING

Our agency is very proactive about all aspects of policing. We accomplish this with
technology, community programs, and partnerships with various service providers.

We have multiple Flock Safety
license plate reader cameras around
town that help us solve crimes.

We also participate in the Neighbors
program by Ring, allowing us to
communicate crime trends and utilize
citizens’ security cameras to address them.

Community Security Camera Program:
The goal of this Program is to deter crime and promote
public safety through collaboration between the Argyle
Police Department and the community we serve. This
program allows residents to register their cameras with
us, creating a database of locations where cameras exist.
This greatly reduces the time it takes us to find video
when a crime occurs.

PoliceApp helps us reduce the amount of time it takes us to
get an applicant through our hiring process. This reduction
in processing time gives us an advantage over much larger
agencies which can take up to year to get an applicant

In 2020, our department began using the Evertel App to

improve communication within our department. Every
officer at our agency has an account and the service allows
everyone to communicate securely on a FOIA compliant
platform that functions similar to text messaging.
