REALITY BASED TRAINING
Our belief is that we are only as good as our training, so we train
regularly. In fact, an Argyle officer will log more training hours
than their counterparts in larger agencies.
In 2020, our agency purchased multiple sets of Simunition gear
that included pistols and safety gear. Shortly after, we began
holding Reality Based Training for our officers at different
locations around town. This training allows us to replicate traffic
stops and common call types to explore different outcomes of
scenarios.
In April of 2021, we began
hosting RBT sessions where
we invited surrounding
agencies to come train with us.
These sessions were a lot of
fun, but more importantly they
exposed peer officers to the
same training tactics our
officers employ to build trust
and mutual improvement.
