Pay Day
It is the policy of this Company that employees will be compensated fairly for their work and their contributions
to the Company’s well-being and success.
All employees are paid bi-weekly with an automatic deposit to your bank account. All pay stubs are accessible
online using the Payworks time-and-attendance system. Your pay will be deposited no later than noon on the
Friday of pay day.
Tracking Hours Worked
Hourly employees are required to punch in when you are ready to begin work, and punch out when you have
finished work. Leaving the premises for any non-business reason requires punching out. All hours must be
approved by your Manager. A time clock is provided for hourly employees in the main hallway by the entrance
to the warehouse.
Lunch and Break Periods (Hourly Employees)
Hourly employees are entitled to a break after you have worked at least four (4) hours. Breaks are fifteen (15)
minutes from the time you leave your department until you return. (NOTE: Employees are not required to
punch out and back in when going for their fifteen (15) minute breaks. Lunch period breaks do not require
punching out and back in, UNLESS you are physically leaving the building for lunch. This is necessary in
order to comply with our Health and Safety/Fire requirements).
A minimum of thirty (30) minutes unpaid meal break is required for any hourly employee working longer than six (6)
hours (there are some exceptions, see your Manager for details). All exceptions must be approved by your Manager
in advance of the worked time. Exceptions must remain exceptions and used only as an absolute necessity.
The purpose of this policy is to ensure employees have the necessary down time to regroup, refocus, and refresh
in an effort to reduce fatigue, inefficiencies, and, ultimately, accidents.
Further to this, in accordance with the Employment Standards Act, all hourly employees working more than six
(6) hours must take their required lunch break time within the first five (5) consecutive hours of work.
